Mackenzie's Log Cabin Project

Mackenzie's Social Studies teacher assigned an optional extra credit project at the end of the year. Mackenzie with straight A's did not really need the extra credit, but we have taught her well. She came home saying that it is always a good idea to have extra credit. Not much chance in her losing her A during the last 2 weeks of school, but being the good parents we are we invited her friend over to assist them in the log cabin building experience. They had a list of items they were not allowed to use, and it all had to be handmade. Mackenzie and her friend Flor decided to make a log cabin one room school house...complete with a working school bell and playground. It was fun to watch them work together and they they earned a 110 which was the highest possible grade. Too bad the extra credit can't transfer to next year! ;) Seriously though we are proud of Mackenzie for working so hard!  Oh and thanks to Uncle Barty for sending us to the plumbing section at the hardware store for the copper pipe to make the bell ;)
